With all the latest tablet news, including the launch of the iPad 2 it seems smartphones have been forgotten about, but not by us. Today some exciting news about the Samsung Galaxy S II (S2) was announced.
The 4.3” Android device will soon be getting a NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor instead of Samsung’s own dual-core. According to source this is because of the short supply of the original chip due to the handset’s high demand.
The news came exclusively to be shown in a presentation slide representing which phones designs that would feature the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processors. Three phones were listed with the Galaxy S II being the surprise as earlier only the LG Optimus 2X and Motorola Atrix 4G were reported to be receiving the chip.
It is the ideal substitute for the Galaxy S II’s existing processor as it offers similar performance and the operates at the same 1GHz. Samsung will choose its customers to get processor that just depends on what part of the world.
